Dybfølt
Cello: Kirstine Elise Pedersen
Bass: Mathæus Bech
Immersion. Delving deeply—getting to the bottom—diving into something. Depth is often associated with tranquility, care, perhaps tenderness. This aptly describes Dybfølt, who, with the two deepest instruments in the string family, have created a unique sound with a unique repertoire.
Like the cello and double bass share similarities, so do Kirstine Elise Pedersen and Mathæus Bech... Both originally studied classical music and share a deep love for Nordic folk music. They first met in this genre, which plays a central role in their musical approach, resonating with the mastery of classical music and the vitality of folk music.
Their repertoire is original, inspired by both classical music and Nordic folk melodies. A special passion for the music of the often overlooked and underrated composer Rued Langgaard has also influenced the duo, who have intensively worked on arranging his music in depth.
